WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The Senior Manager, People Operations is responsible for overseeing the efficient functioning of all People Operations, Communications and Talent Management activities within the organization. This role acts as a true utility player managing and optimizing our systems, programs and procedures to support the company's strategic objectives. The Senior Manager will oversee talent management programs including performance management, succession planning and employee engagement. In addition, they will develop programs and initiatives that enhance employee experiences and retention of talent, and contribute to organizational effectiveness through effective People operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Succession Planning and Talent Development: Develop and implement succession planning strategies to identify and develop high-potential employees for key leadership roles. Collaborate with department leaders to assess talent gaps, identify development needs, and create career pathways for employees. Implement talent development programs, including mentoring, coaching, and training initiatives.
  • Employee Engagement and Retention: Work with Regional People team to develop and implement employee engagement strategies to foster a positive work environment and enhance employee satisfaction and retention. Conduct employee surveys, analyze feedback, and implement action plans to address employee concerns and improve engagement levels.
  • Oversee and produce department comms to field and VQ (what we call our headquarters!) including producing decks, emails, policy docs, etc. as well as managing and prioritizing the people team calendar and determining appropriate time and methods of communication.
  • Act as Workday Talent Management partner overseeing the Talent Management tools to support our frontliners and VQ employees. Build and maintain these tools and the training required to support their use.
  • Performance Management: Oversee the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback mechanisms. Implement tools and systems to monitor and evaluate employee performance and contribute to the development of performance improvement initiatives.
  • Talent Onboarding: Partner with Talent, Tech, Ops and others to streamline onboarding processes. Ensure a smooth and engaging onboarding experience for new hires by coordinating orientation sessions, providing relevant information, and tools to integrate fresh VEGgies into the organization. Support development of offer letters and communications to new hires.
  • HR Analytics and Reporting: Develop and maintain People team metrics, dashboards, and reports to track key performance indicators and measure the effectiveness of People programs and initiatives. Use data-driven insights to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in People operations.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the People team budget in partnership with the VP, People, including forecasting expenses, monitoring expenditures, and optimizing resource allocation to achieve team goals.
  • Implement talent marketing strategies through various channels, including social media, employer branding initiatives, and networking events.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Influence and engage others on the team to deliver resources needed
WHO YOU ARE
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field;
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in People Ops and/or Talent Management
  • In-depth knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with HRIS and other HR technology solutions, Workday is strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
