The Senior Manager of Cost Strategies Product Development is responsible for developing and implementing all approved projects for new and enhanced cost strategy capabilities for distribution within the workers' compensation insured and self-insured markets. Cost strategies include medical bill review, PPO networks, PBM and specialty/ancillary partner programs. May also develop new products for the broader P&C markets.

  • Analyze emerging internal claim trends, industry changes and evaluate new products.
  • Conduct marketplace analysis of vendor capabilities, lead RFP effort and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Manage and coordinate cost strategies product development projects from concept approval to launch.
  • Evaluate and resolve technical feasibility, design optimization, and any potential operational implementation risks.
  • Collaborate with Claims to ensure effective workflow integration.
  • Define KPI for product performance and work with Reporting & Analytics to create metric-driven reporting.
  • Partner with Product Specialist, claim leadership and Operational Management to support product launch throughout operational implementation, staff training and as needed following 'go live'.
  • Leverage Product Analytics to validate product performance and engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support Marketing in designing collateral for product launch.
  • Improve and expand organizational understanding of Managed Care product and services.
  • Assist in responding to RFPs regarding managed care product capabilities.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and apply knowledge of compliance policies and procedures, standards and laws applicable to job responsibilities in the performance of work.


Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years' progressive management experience in workers' compensation managed care, with at least 5 years managing cost strategies services including bill review/networks and/or PBM
  • Basic business competency: understanding revenue vs targeted margins; ability to read P&L; understanding of current operating workflows for clinical and claim services
  • Basic project management skills with proven success in clinical product development
  • Ability to conduct market research and analysis and apply learning to ideation for new products and services that will address unmet market needs and competitively differentiate PMA
  • Effective prioritization skills with a sense of urgency and ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Skill in communicating clear value statements for products developed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; demonstrated ability to provide superior service to internal and external stakeholders
