The Role

The Senior Lead Technology Strategist will own positioning Lumen as a thought leader while creating stronger, more valuable customer engagements for Lumen. Engagements are expected to generate new contacts in dim/dark customers, new engagements within business units of established customers, and ultimately new sales opportunities for Lumen.

The role engages with Customer Support team to support "unfreezing" initiatives driving maximum use of procured services. The role will position additional services and technology outcomes that will drive enhanced customer business outcomes. They will work directly with customer aiding them in realizing optimum value from Lumen.

This activity will be aligned to defined accounts and opportunities, throughout the Customer Journey (Learn, Buy, Get, Use, Pay, Renew), as well as targeted segments, supplying direct leverage to increase sales and revenue growth.

The Senior Lead Technology Strategist creates the need for outcome-based solutions and advocates the impact that Lumen can deliver to a customer. Supporting the requirements of Lumen's top customers.

The role will need to be able to speak to the industry macro trends and the impact on business, and how a customer may look to transform their organization in an optimal manner. They must be able to then map this back to Lumen solutions and services. This will be delivered in a consultative and agnostic manner that clearly demonstrates the customer benefits and impact (positive or negative)

The Technology Strategist makes recommendations about:

  • How customers can drive greater value from the Lumen Platform.
  • How to enable a customer to create an effective business case for digital transformation
  • Articulate the impact of change to an organization and the soft benefits that can be realized.
  • Effective technology investment strategy and how that aligns to the customer's business objective.
  • Application, service and adoption strategy, the best execution vendue to get the greatest possible outcome.
  • Follow up on next actions to support the output of the activities
The Main Responsibilities

The role will coach and mentor sales teams to increase knowledge and capability, supporting and enabling the transformation of the sales team.

  • Acts as a virtual member of the team. Accountable for technology vison for the customers they are supporting, through the customer buying journey. Works closely with Client Strategist and account teams to form part of the opportunity pursuit function.
  • Will create thought leadership content for consumption of the teams to position Lumen up market. Engage in forums and events to promote the Lumen brand.
  • Will contribute and document internal technology reviews of trends that are affecting customers and or areas of improvement that is needed to drive greater adoption of Lumen services.
  • Engages in strategic discussions with customer executives to help articulate, define and set technology direction and recommend solutions for the short, medium and long term to solve business problems with full scope solutions, not just products. Designs and leads Executive Strategy Sessions, Solutions Development/Unfreezing Workshops, and Technology Advisory Briefings. These activities will be use create net new opportunities.
  • Will support thought leadership e.g. EBC, CBRs market propositions (named accounts). To generate new areas for the Technology Strategist to evolve in to up-sale and cross-sale
