JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

The Senior International Tax Accountant work with management and field resources to accurately maintain tax compliance function. The individual should be a customer service oriented team player, self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities and tasks to meet deadlines and resolve issues quickly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • This position will ensure timely filing of tax returns
  • Provide audit documentation & support, maintain withholding tax rate tables, maintain transfer pricing documentation, and maintain tax records of the Company.
  • Enhance system and reporting efficiencies, research various taxability issues across multiple transaction types and jurisdictions, and support field activities as they relate to tax law and compliance.
  • This position also provides support to International Tax Director to help administer transfer pricing policies, perform transfer pricing calculations, perform calculations for what if scenarios, and calculate income tax provision.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
  • Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently
  • Analyze income tax data.
  • Manages timely filing of quarterly and annual tax reporting for federal, multiple states and multiple legal entities.
  • Assists in rate tables, exemption records and certificates, clear and concise reporting data, tax calendar
  • Assists with tax research and audits.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties and/or other special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years in the field of taxation
  • Working knowledge of OneSource preferrable but not required
  • Critical thinking skills; strong interpersonal skills, essential skills in dealing with people at all levels; empathy and self-confidence; effective oral and written communication skills; leadership; good collaboration skills; high level of problem-solving skills; excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment and demonstrate a sense of urgency; ability to resolve conflicts; multi-task, set priorities, and meet deadlines; highest level of confidentiality; accept and respond to challenges in a positive manner; high degree of professionalism.

ENVIRONMENT:

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel may be (up to 10%) required in support of the position's responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
