Our presence in the Midwest is growing and we are looking for outstanding candidates to grow with us in this region! Our Environmental business is looking for a Senior Project Manager to support and grow GHD's environmental sector presence in our Chicago, Illinois office.

Specific responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Project management and leadership of various environmental projects including maintenance of project scope, schedule, budget, and quality through the coordination of project teams and via direct client communication
  • Coordination with Market Leaders, Business Group Leaders, and Key Client teams to support client accounts (contract reviews, client initiatives, and pursuit tracking)
  • Identify and register for regional activities that will raise visibility regionally for GHD by way of seminars, conferences, client events, speaking opportunities, sponsorships, and charity-related events (this would include some participation in key seminars/conferences)
  • Assist the Business Development Group in supporting the Key Client Relationship Managers with engagement and business development initiatives.
  • Bring in and develop new clients/projects for GHD
  • Participate in and lead project teams in the planning, design, and execution environmental compliance, assessment, and remedial programs
  • Support existing GHD clients with the implementation of efficient and innovative solutions to address their environmental liabilities and concerns
  • Identify and support business development, client expansion and proposal development activities for the Midwest Environmental business working with our regional business and market leadership
  • Preparing technical proposals
  • Maintain membership and participation in relevant state and/or national environmental industry groups and associations
  • Mentor and provide leadership to a small group of junior environmental professionals
For success in this position, you will possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or a related technical field
  • Professional licensure (PE, PG) a plus
  • 15+/- years of environmental project experience including the coordination and management of projects consisting of site investigation, remediation and monitoring and general environmental compliance
  • Experience in client relationship development/management and business development with strong client relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation
  • Ability to present technical information in a concise and professional manner
  • Valid driver's license with ability and willingness to travel as needed
