The Senior Electrical Engineer shall provide independent detailed design and engineering services to the Engineering, Project, Sales, Service & Production Departments. As a Senior Engineer, you will support policies and procedures for designing, testing, installing, and maintaining Walk-In environmental chambers, while also provide support on new or revised designs, testing, installation procedures and Startup service as required.

Additionally, the Senior Electrical Engineer will provide professional guidance to junior engineers, keep up with current state of technology and provide a supportive role in resolving escalated issues in a timely manner on a per project basis. You will support the Electrical Engineering Manager on tasks related to process development directives.

Key Duties:

  • Support Junior Electrical Engineers with PLC control systems, power distribution, instrumentation, and NEC requirements.
  • Provide peer review of electrical engineers' completed design
  • Support development of electrical engineering standardization for Walk-In chambers pertaining to:
    • PLC/HMI, programming standardization
    • Production / Shop buildup standardization
    • Startup standardization.
  • Oversee application of the existing control system (CCS4000) and any new version as a project- based product.
Walk-In Environmental Chambers:
  • Provide accurate and timely support to the project managers.
  • Provide accurate and timely support for the manufacture of industrial control panels and related electrical assemblies.
  • Provide accurate and timely support for the Sales department.
  • Provide accurate and timely support for the Service department, with respect to special packages and sub-assembly.
  • Provide accurate and timely design per specific project requirements.
  • Co-develop standard procedures and computer programs to support electrical engineering tasks.
  • Co-develop standardization and application for CAD, material templates, and quality control procedures.
  • Provide accurate and timely support for electrical design and application of non-standard electrical/control systems.
  • Provide project startup support as required.
Reach-in Environmental Chambers:
  • This product line is controlled through the shop and QC Departments.
  • Electrical Engineering support is minimal and on an as-needed basis.
Standards Development:
  • Support the development of standard documentation and design procedures for Walk-In chamber applications.
  • Support Electrical Engineering Manager in providing "Lesson Learned" information to the Engineering Coordinator for their monthly bulletin.
Departmental Development:
  • Utilize knowledge for training and education for the development of Environmental Specialties Junior electrical engineers.
  • Support interaction between Engineering, Production, and field personnel on development of new products and systems.
  • Co-develop standard procedures, new product, and design feedback to other departments.
  • Support with vender discussion on innovative products.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience related to process controls and instrumentation of systems involving electromechanical and solid-state control logic, PLCs, and power distribution.
  • 8+ years of experience with project planning and estimating.
  • 8+ years of experience in the design of ladder logic schematics, technical writing, documentation, and Quality Assurance Standards.
  • Computer skills including MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and PLC/HMI programming software.
