Introduction to role:

Join us at AstraZeneca as a Senior Director in the Patient Centered Science (PCS) team, part of our Biopharmaceuticals Business Unit. PCS generates impactful patient centered evidence to positively impact lives by amplifying the patients' voice in healthcare decision-making. This role is pivotal in driving the in-house capability build of Clinical Outcome Assessments (COAs) quantitative methods and analyses to drive cutting edge scientific innovation to meet the needs of regulators, payers, health care providers and last but not the least, patients. You will be the main point of contact for COA quantitative analyses, drive internal education and awareness, and provide specialty expertise to PCS. This is an opportunity to work from early and late R&D, Medical and markets to ensure our new medicines are guided by Patient Focused Drug Development and to drive practice change.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will build internal COA quantitative methods and analysis capabilities, develop outsourcing strategy for quantitative COA analyses, and ensure more analyses are carried out in-house. You will also be responsible for knowledge sharing and support to PCS about quantitative methods for COA evidence across TAs. Additionally, you will drive and support the conduct of quantitative methods and analysis to generate COA related evidence across TAs. You will also be responsible for budget management for COA quantitative analyses capability build and tracking budget savings by conducting more analyses internally. You will be part of PCS Leadership team.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Masters degree in relevant field (statistics, psychometrics, outcomes research, health services research, epidemiology, health policy or related fields)

•7 years relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, life science industry, research, or consulting

• Proven track record of developing and applying quantitative methods for COA

• Proven track record of innovation and application of new methods to meet stakeholder requirements

• Knowledge and experience of clinical development and real-world evidence

• Experience of cross-functional collaboration and leading without authority

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• PhD in relevant field
