About This Job

The Senior Business Analyst position will assist with developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure that systems support the organization's business and meet the need of the end users. The Senior Business Analyst will define system requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with new or existing applications, systems, or platforms. The Senior Business Analyst will work to develop an integrated view of the Commercial line of business using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and available industry standard techniques.

To produce the required outputs, the candidate will be required to analyze various business needs and assist with determining the appropriate design to solve the issue. The Senior Business Analyst must be able to quickly achieve an in-depth understanding of the current systems and integrations used in the Commercial Bank, so that they are able to offer solutions for complex projects varying in scope. The candidate must be a self-starter and display proven analytical and critical thinking skills. A willingness and desire to learn will also be essential. This position will participate on several concurrent projects, many of which will be found on the Bank's top twenty strategic project list.

Essential Functions

• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that systems support the organization's business and meet the need of the end users
  
• Define system requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with new or existing applications, systems, or platforms
  
• Create and update system integration diagrams. Assist with designing strategies to solve complex business needs.
  
• Act as liaison between the business SMEs and our IT partners
  
• Develop a business architecture strategy based on a situational awareness of various business scenarios and motivations
  
• Consult on numerous projects that impact the Commercial Line of Business
  
• Develop a broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes, and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance
  
• Perform other duties as assigned
  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Strong knowledge of the Agile project methodology
  
• Strong understanding of the following technologies preferred: Database design, application development, web services, application, and infrastructure security
  
• Ability to create high-level models that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature business architecture
  
• Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities
  
• Ability to assimilate and correlate disconnected documentation and drawings, and articulate their collective relevance to the organization and to high-priority business issues
  
• Demonstrated initiative and innovative thinking skills
  
• Ability to analyze details, translate technical and non-technical terminology, and adopt a big picture view
  
• Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  
• Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  
• Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
  
• Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  
• 5+ years experience in an IT or a Business Architect role required
  
• 3+ years experience in banking or another financial industry preferred
  
• Experience planning and deploying both business and IT initiatives preferred
  
• Experience modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques preferred
