SUMMARY

Under direct supervision, the Bank Reconciliation Senior Associate is responsible for completing monthly reconciliations for multi-store bank accounts to the general ledger, researching and resolving any cash discrepancies. The principal business outcome for this role is to increase profitability through accurate account reconciliations and to provide excellent customer service. Attention to detail, good organizational skills and strong analytical skills are required. This position will interact with his or her supervisor several times a week to receive guidance and feedback. Many non-routine activities will require a supervisor's advance approval.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Complete store bank reconciliations accurately and within GameStop's expected timeframe
  • Facilitate bank reconciliation process through loading or data entry of data files from banks and POS systems
  • Compile bank reconciliation data and perform business analysis and reporting for management on cash over/short, missing deposits and bank fees
  • Process information for journal entries and other accounting requirements as required
  • Facilitate cash transfers from store deposit accounts to corporate operating accounts
  • Exhibit a high level of customer service for internal and external customers
  • Display excellent verbal and written communication to internal and external customers
  • Assist Supervisor with training of new associates
  • Work closely with Supervisor to identify and report process and system related issues and follow up to conclusion
  • Collaborate within the Transaction Assurance team, assisting with other projects as needed
  • Manage relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization; adhere consistently with all organizational policies related to our respectful workplace

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • High school diploma or GED required; accredited Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, general business or other related field preferred
  • A minimum of 4 years of banking and/or accounting experience preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs, specifically Excel and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of accounting reconciliation processes and cash management functions
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills using basic English
  • Ability to accurately type and enter information into a PC using a keyboard and mouse
  • Ability to retrieve, analyze, validate, organize and report data electronically and on paper
  • Proficient ability to work collaboratively with others; conduct working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
  • Proficient ability to remain effective under stress, and respond to pressure in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
  • Demonstrated ability to model customer-focused behaviors leading to outstanding customer experiences
  • Consistently demonstrates a commitment to GameStop policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities
