Health Services Advisory Group, Inc. seeks a full-time Senior Analyst position in Phoenix, AZ. The Senior Analyst position is a key contributor to cutting-edge analytic work that spans the broad spectrum of healthcare data projects at HSAG.
Evaluate and work with a wide array of data using SAS to facilitate data exploration, including the following data types: survey, case review, medical and prescription drug claims and encounters, eligibility, demographic, clinical, electronic health record, registry, vital statistics and operational; support/organize multiple small- to medium-sized analytic projects; understand primary types of healthcare data and methods for approaching data assessments as well as healthcare industry data terminologies; perform data validation using SAS, conduct analysis plans, and cross reference data; attend and participate in team training meetings ; present and communicate project results to nonanalytic staff members and customers; contribute to components of innovative analytic plans that are intended to provide healthcare decision and policy makers with the necessary information to transform healthcare, including key driver analyses, and serve as analytic project lead in relevant projects; serve as lead in designing a wide array of analytic studies and participate in all phases of the research design process, including analyzing enterprise-level data sets using complex sampling models; serve as an integral part of HSAG Data Science & Advanced Analytics division, including survey and federal analytic departments; conduct and interpret complex analyses, develop and test complex statistical models, including various types of regression models, manipulate complex databases, and track and evaluate patterns of care and outcomes; and mentor and supervise junior team members.
Master’s degree in statistics or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and 3 years of experiencing with data validation in a healthcare industry, specifically Medicare or Medicaid, including working with Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS), Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Survey, and other healthcare survey data.
Specific skills/other requirements – Must also possess the following: SAS (3 years); mentoring junior team members; project lead; complex statistical modeling, including regression models; analyzing enterprise-level data sets using complex sampling; testing statistical models and algorithms; healthcare industry data terminology; presenting data results to technical and nontechnical audiences; and key driver analyses.
Attendance at the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) HEDIS Survey Vendor Training (at least 2 attendances within the last 5 years)
