Overview

To provide HBI management with continuous, valid, reliable and actionable information on overall marketplace trends and performance of HBI brands/categories versus objectives and competition. Primary focus is to support the Senior Consumer Insights Manager with primary research needs and serve an active role in accomplishing the goals / responsibilities of the overall Consumer Insights Team.

Responsibilities

  • Position is also responsible for developing, programming, and analyzing primary research projects using HBI survey tools or working with outside vendors to facilitate.
  • Provide analytic support for HBI constituents, compiling data, analyzing for trends/patterns, and summarizing findings by identifying key learnings and implications.
  • Become a category and HBI business expert such that he/she can lead in linking category dynamics with current business issues.
  • Position is responsible for managing the syndicated data that is pulled, analyzed, and reported for the intimate apparel market and secondary data for HBI. Supports HBI Sales, Marketing, and Division management by providing monthly reports and data/presentations as well as researching ad hoc requests.
  • Assists (in protégé role) HBI Consumer Insights with coordinating, executing and reporting of research results from qualitative and quantitative market research.
  • Incumbent interacts with all levels of sales and marketing staff (VPs, Directors, Managers, Assistant Manager, Category Management).
  • Act as mentor to peers / users of syndicated data in the areas of problem/issue definition, analysis, integration of information from various data sources, development of well-founded recommendations, and communications of those findings and recommendations.

Qualifications
  • Position requires a college degree or equivalent (2-3 years) work experience in market research
  • Strong computer skills a requirement, with working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and data management software.
  • Experience with market research software, statistics and programming preferred.
  • Working experience with syndicated data preferred (NPD experience a plus).
  • Must be a self-starter with initiative and good interpersonal skills to probe/understand end-users' issues and partner with end-users on analyses (synthesis of data and developing implications for HBI Intimates businesses).
  • Demonstrated written/verbal communications skills in order to 1) work with people at all levels in various functional areas and 2) provide written summaries of key learnings (i.e., turn data into usable information for end-users).
  • Demonstrated orientation to numbers and use of basic math skills to solve problems, verify accuracy of work, and/or analyze research/market data.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to coordinate projects, prioritize competing needs, and adjust work schedule to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Facilitation skills to lead a team through data analysis to achieve a solution.
  • Strong, confident communicator with good influencing skills.
  • Works independently (minimal supervision) and takes responsibility for meeting department goals and objectives.
