Description

Expertise and Functions Provide oversight on project development through review of technical and programmatic briefings and reports Independently develop analyses and assessments of solid rocket motor stage design and performance Review stage manufacturing processes, develop and provide briefings to Program Office concerning the state of development for all solid rocket motor stages Support test events, analyze test data, and conduct trades studies Conduct interactions between counterparts at the Air Force customer, members of the greater project team, and other various Mission Partners and stakeholders Perform technical analyses for subsystem components and/or software, component validation/verification, risk analyses and assessments of component supportability and design effectives in the context of subsystem or other derived requirements Apply focused or specialized knowledge to resolve design issues that have an impact to subsystem or task area Perform analyses for one or more subsystem components to include design, fabrication, test, integration, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal Ensure the logical and systematic derivation of component and associated interface requirements into design solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints; identify and quantify associated risks Perform functional analysis, detailed trade studies at the component or piece-part level, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate component requirements into hardware and/or software specification Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Education/Training (both required and desired):
    • Bachelor's Degree in relevant engineering or science discipline required
    • Master's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics, Physics, or other relevant engineering or science discipline preferred

  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of professional experience in the required task area
    • 10+ yeas of professional experience in the required task area preferred
    • Technical understanding of Solid Rocket Motor design, performance evaluation, or manufacture
    • Knowledge of product integration and interface management (involving mechanical subsystems)
    • Preferred Experience:
      • ICBM Weapon System experience
      • Propulsion performance modeling and analysis of solid rocket motor systems
      • Familiarity with DoD product development lifecycle
  • Security:
    • Must be a US citizen
    • Active Top Secret level clearance required
