Responsibilities

The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seekingto hire a full-time Senior Administrative Analyst to join the Hispanic NeuropsychiatricCenter of Excellence. Primary duties include:

  • Identifying areas of improvement
  • Creating new processes and procedures as needed
  • Initiating long-term planning and program review
  • Managing human, financial space, and equipment resources
  • Manage and direct major purchases, departmental moves, new systems, etc.
  • Monitor compliance with contracts and timely completion of tasks
Qualifications

  • Excellent written, verbal and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish (bilingual and biliterate) required
  • Minimum 5 years experience in working with Latino(a) community in Administrative work
  • Bachelors Degree in related fields (preferred)
  • Skills in planning and administering multiple programs in a highly complex, clinical, teaching, and research-oriented environment
  • Ability to create and develop new programs/services
  • Skills in analyzing information, problems, procedures and situations on a meta-level to define problem or objective, identify relevant concerns/factors and identify patterns, tendencies, relationships, formulate logical and objective conclusions and recognize and recommend alternatives and their implications
  • Excellent organization skills to prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationship with faculty, staff, trainees, patients, outside vendors, campus departments etc
  • Accounting skills to plan, prepare, analyze and complete revenue and expense budgets (preferred)
  • Skills in negotiating and exchanging information to solve problems, making improvements
  • Extensive knowledge of an experience with University policies and procedures
  • Ability to apply independent problem solving, knowing when to request assistance and when independent action is needed
  • Expertise, knowledge and experience in managing complex clinical operations
  • Knowledge of psychiatric and medical terminology
  • Ability to establish rapport, handle distressed, confused and/or hostile patients
