As the first point of contact when someone enters a building, a security receptionist plays a large role in both operational flow and facility safety. Through interaction with visitors, the security receptionist quickly guides visitors to their correct destination.
  • Monitor all incoming and outgoing personnel, visitors, deliveries, etc
  • Observe and report incidents or suspicious activity to management
  • Help to maintain a safe and secure environment by actively monitoring the premises and surroundings
  • Be well-versed on what to do if a potentially unwanted situation arises
  • Operate multi-line phone system to receive incoming messages, transfer calls, and place outgoing calls as directed
  • Issue visitor passes as required and adhere to visitor control procedures
  • Keep records on monthly call activity and maintain reception area files
  • Keep manager advised of all issues with regards to reception area
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6 months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. This includes Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to operate multi-line phone system
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Professional demeanor and personal appearance
