Position Title: Security Automation Engineer

Location: Remote

Your role

We are a highly skilled and motivated cybersecurity team in a large global, publicly traded, critical infrastructure enterprise. We are looking for a person with a security automation and orchestration level of ability to help us "secure all the things". This person must be able to work on small teams with minimal direction and be available for global travel.

What you'll do

The ideal candidate will act as an authoritative resource inapplication, system, network and physical security from an attacker's perspective.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, leading security assessments of third party and internal applications, networks and physical systems, defining security requirements, and evaluating processes, network designs and access controls.

This role requires collaboration with developers, system/network administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure correct design, development, and implementation of applications and networks.

What you'll need

• Experience with engineering security architecture of large-scale applications, systems and networks
• Implementation of technical controls including WAF, IDS/IPS, SIEM, AV, EDR, Application Whitelisting, PKI, Vulnerability Management and 2FA
• Must be knowledgeable and experienced with Zero Trust and Software Defined Infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Defense in Depth
• Prior experience with Infrastructure-as-code concepts and tools (i.e. Ansible, Terraform, etc)
• Experience working in an agile environment and a working understanding of devops practices
• Demonstratable experience with
  • Linux systems and tools
  • Automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform
  • CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Github Actions)
  • Scripting/programming in Python or equivalent language
  • Software development tools such as Git
• Knowledge of network infrastructure security (i.e. MAC spoofing, man-in-the-middle attacks, etc)
• Working knowledge of securing public cloud infrastructure (i.e AWS, Azure, etc)

Non-Technical Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills and people skills are essential
• Should be able to take minimal direction and deliver positive results
• Experience navigating business through complex risk decisions
• Ability to present technical information in an understandable manner
• Be a calming force under stressful conditions
• Able to evangelize importance and value of security program

Desired Backgrounds:

• 7+ years of progressive security experience in a technical role
• Experience mentoring and developing junior resources
• Experience in data center or other industrial space
• Track record of success in securing large and complex environments
• Certifications (ISC2, ISACA, GIAC, COMPTIA) preferred
• Military, IC or LE experience a plus
