Responsibilities

How Will You Contribute to the Company?

We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Security Analyst Intern to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to kickstart their career in cybersecurity, learning from industry experts and gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.

What Will You Do?

As a Security Analyst Intern, you will:

  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing security events and incidents, utilizing security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners
  • Support the Security Operations team in identifying and mitigating threats and vulnerabilities, and with incident response activities
  • Research emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices to contribute to continuous improvement of the organization's security posture
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation of security policies and procedures
  • Participate in security awareness and training initiatives to promote a strong security culture within the organization
  • Document and report on security activities, incidents, and trends for management review and analysis
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by the Security Operations team
  • Effectively communicate using written, oral, non-verbal, and active listening skills
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Actively pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Basic knowledge of information security principles, best practices, and technologies, and willingness to actively collaborate and share your insights with team members
  • Familiarity with common security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners) and concepts (e.g., firewalls, encryption, authentication), and an eagerness to work together with the team to expand your knowledge and contribute to ongoing projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and a collaborative mindset to find effective solutions
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to actively engage with team members and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative work environment
  • A passion for learning and adapting in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving industry, and a willingness to support your team members as you grow together
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities as part of a team, maintaining a high level of organization and focus on shared objectives

Bonus Points:
  • Zero to two (0-2) years of experience leading or working in a collaborative team environment
  • Security Certifications
  • Cloud Security experience in support of AWS, GCP, and MS Azure cloud hosting environments

Compensation and Benefits at Cradlepoint

At Cradlepoint, we know that our people are the key to our success. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package to help with your individual needs and goals.

Your Pay:

The hourly rate for this position is listed below. The actual hourly rate offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

  • $17.50 - $28.75

Your Financial Security:

We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. Cradlepoint's 401(k) plan has a 4% company match and immediate vesting. As an intern, you will be eligible to participate in the program after completing over 1,000 service hours.
