DNV Energy's Greenpower Monitor group is seeking a SCADA Commissioning Specialist to join our team.

The position is part of the Project Execution Department. The incumbent will make sure that the Projects are completed in a timely manner, carry out Project Management and Engineering actions, keep the customer relations during the life of the project and the Communication with customers and other Stakeholders.

This position can be based out of any of our DNV offices within the Continental U.S. preferably in our DNV office in Austin, TX office.

What You'll Do

  • Onsite installation and configuration of SCADA systems and monitoring devices
  • Programming of data acquisition devices using Linux OS or similar, data servers and other equipment involved in a SCADA system for a solar PV plant
  • Test, start up and ensure the correct configuration of SCADA systems
  • Configuration of SCADA HMI
  • Remote support to onsite partners/staff to perform commissioning services on SCADA/monitoring systems
  • Perform onsite trainings and testing to operators/customers about the SCADA capabilities, HMI and hardware overall design
  • Generation of reports according to the tasks and tests performed
  • Communicate with customer about technical aspects and support required, before, during and after commissioning of the SCADA/monitoring system
  • Generate basic drawings in CAD for technical requirements of the SCADA system and other associated documentation required in the project execution
  • Technical assistance through emails and calls on the platforms' performance/configuration (Technical Assistance Support)
  • Manage internal communications and project documentation
Position Qualifications

What is Required
  • Engineering degree (Telecommunications, IT, Electrical or Electronics)
  • 1-5 years' experience with industrial communication equipment & protocols (RS485, Modbus, Ethernet, ...)
  • Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of local networks
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to write clear and accurate reports
  • It is essential to have absolute availability to travel
  • Working out of the office around 80% of the time since the facilities are usually abroad
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation, including a willingness to develop and enjoy taking challenges and responsibilities
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening
What is Preferred
  • Knowledge in renewable energies (mainly Solar PV and Wind)
  • Passionate individual eager to share and build knowledge with a multicultural group of talented colleagues
  • Self-starter who demonstrates the ability to work in global, cross-functional team environment, collaborating with groups of subject matter experts in different geographies and time-zones
  • General knowledge in SQL Databases
  • Working experience with Linux OS
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English (native or advanced level)
