Job Description Summary

We are looking for motivated individuals with positive attitudes to join our Lamb Weston Boardman Center Family!

You will play a vital role in ensuring a safe quality product leaves our doors by keeping bacteria and housekeeping at acceptable levels by using established cleaning procedures, chemicals, tools and techniques. We will train you to help us maintain sanitary conditions in the plant while also maintaining a safe work environment.

Job Description

Key Duties

  • Maintain safe work practices at all times and participate in safety programs.
  • Perform cleaning with the use of high-pressure hoses (air and hot water), tools such as scratch pads, brushes, sponges, squeegees, paper towels, shovels, brooms, buckets, wheelbarrows, carts, ladders, garbage cans, pallet jacks, flashlights, and cleaning agents.
  • Operate all machinery (i.e., forklift, man-lift, etc.) safely in the assigned cleaning area using lockouts when necessary.
  • Remove static product, foreign material, and product buildup from equipment or areas which the supervisor assigned by hand scrubbing, chemical foaming, shoveling, scraping, rinsing and sweeping.
  • Properly mix and use potentially hazardous chemicals to clean and sanitize.
  • Operate forklift with dump cage for dumping of waste product into proper receptacles.
  • Paint machinery, walls, etc. as directed.
  • Meet or exceed all prerequisite and performance standards of the Sanitation Technician position and work any and all areas of the plant.
  • Ability to receive forklift certification during the probationary period and maintain a safe driving record at all times.
  • Work well with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to fill out proper paperwork for all sanitation areas and job.
  • Must be able to work in cold environments for length of shift. Also, must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience
  • Ability to work with chemicals
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write out reports and forms.
  • Ability to effectively present (speak) and listen to information in one on one and in small
  • Ability to deal with problems involving safety and sanitary issues etc.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, as well as talk and hear. The employee must be able to work any or all areas of the plant.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to slippery, wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or hazardous chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and tight confined spaces. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, in high places, and is exposed to extreme heat and cold.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The work environment is a controlled temperature of 45 degrees or less.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $18.09
