Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6:45PM - 5:45AM

Starting pay rate: $15.90/hr

Description

This position is responsible for salvaging birds that have machine damaged parts or are infected with Interclavicular Airsacculitis (Air Sac). If a bird has machine damaged parts it will be hung by a wing on the reprocessing line. These birds are stab bed onto a cone and then salvaged of any good parts using a knife. The salvaged parts are packed in tubs with ice and labeled Salvage. The damaged parts are condemned. If a bird has Air Sac it will be hung by a wing and will have a slice across the breast. These birds will be salvaged according to USDA specifications. The salvaged parts are packed in tubs with ice and labeled Salvage. The damaged parts are condemned. The temperature is 45 to 50 degrees. The Salvage Trimmer will stand, walk, use knives which will require use of wrists, fingers and thumb for 10 hours. All other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Must have at least 3 months seniority.
