MCA, your trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security, is seeking a entry level Safety Specialist to support our Safety Department. The candidate can work remotely within our company footprint (preferably Southeast - Alabama, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia)

As a safety specialist the candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of functions in making sure that safety standards and procedures are always met and adhered to within the organization.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Assist with the development of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce employee risk, raise safety awareness, and improve the company safety culture.
  • Assist with managing OSHA 300 Logs and regulatory correspondence.
  • Maintain DOT and MSHA recordkeeping documentation and reporting.
  • Coordinate and manage annual and periodic employee safety training, including new hire training.
  • Support locations with day-to-day safety needs.
  • Maintain LMS/Reporting System (enroll new employees, troubleshoot login issues, run end of the month reports, monitor completion of audits, edit system, enroll company in monthly training)
  • Maintain vetting systems (Avetta, ISN, Complyworks, etc.)
  • Complete Pre-Qualification Safety Documents
  • Complete all other administrative duties as requested.


WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:
  • Bachelor or technical training in any safety-related field.
  • 2+ years relevant work experience in similar role.
  • Commitment to safety
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and multi-tasker
  • Ability to present safety related material to management.
  • Excellent computer skills (Adaptable to New Software and Microsoft Office)
  • 30-hour OSHA certification (Preferred)
  • DOT and MSHA experience (Preferred)
