Position Overview

Administratively support the company Safety Director and Environmental Manager by conducting safety and environmental administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Assists with workers' compensation claims, including first report of injury forms; Forward documentation/reports to claims department.
  • Enter incidents into Riskonnect including Near misses.
  • Provide monthly end reports to Safety Director and Environmental Manager.
  • Prepares reports and maintains safety/environmental files and documentation, records and training database. Monitors training database for expiration of training dates, assist with scheduling training.
  • Maintains and records incidents for the OSHA 300 log and OSHA 300A log.
  • Responsible for maintaining, updating, and distribution of safety related programs or topics, including calculations for the safety incentive program.
  • Manage PPE and Safety Boot and Prescriptive Safety Glass Programs.
  • An active role as a Safety Committee coordinator (scheduling, meeting minutes, follow-up items).
  • Assists with coordinating employee safety orientation and job site safety inspections.
  • Authorized driver tracking, including MVR checks.
  • Assist the Environmental Manager with administrative duties such as year-end reporting, review permit compliance and assisting with SDS management for all facilities.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and timely..

Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Requirements
  • Safety experience required
  • Ability to read and write English/Spanish - Bilingual
  • Must have a state issues valid driver's license

Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office and the ability to rapidly learn different software applications.
  • Strong professional communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust to changing schedules and projects
  • Strong ability to research regulatory rules and regulations

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job

  • Long periods of sitting and looking at computer screens
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds

Work Environment
  • May require work in the heat and cold for extended periods
  • Will work in office environment.
