The Ruvkun Laboratory at MGH/Harvard and the Mootha Laboratory at MGH/Harvard/Broad/HHMI are seeking a passionate and creative LABORATORY TECHNICIAN to work at the interface of C. elegans genetics and mitochondrial biology. Our laboratories combine the latest tools of genetics, metabolism, and biochemical physiology to systematically investigate mitochondria - key organelles in our body that are crucial for energy metabolism and linked to rare diseases, neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease, and normal aging.
The laboratory technician will work closely with a Postdoctoral Fellow investigating genetic and environmental suppressors of mitochondrial disease in the roundworm C. elegans. This is a rare opportunity to be a part of a dynamic and cutting-edge research team with ample opportunity for co-authorship on important publications. Ideal for a recent graduate who wants to spend 2 years gaining research experience prior to graduate or medical school.
