West Virginia University Research Corporation is seeking applications for a Research Scientist in the Department of Biochemistry.
About the Opportunity
The newly hired person will join an exciting team of vision researchers in identifying mechanisms behind blindness and use this knowledge to generate novel ideas for treatments for vision loss in humans. We have been continuously funded for our research by the National Institutes of Health for the last two decades (https://reporter.nih.gov/search/KLfeDDZoiE20LqezTUXc-g/projects?projects=Active). You will help manage a team of graduate students and technicians in this position. You will work with the principal investigator (PI) in the generation and maintenance of animal models for blindness. In addition, you will actively participate in the ongoing research including regular presentation of your research endeavors, helping PI in grant, protocol, and manuscript submission. We are looking for a highly-motivated person wanting to work in a team with a focus on improving human health.
