Welbilt's internship program is designed to expose individuals to all phases of the foodservice equipment value chain and will take place at the Corporate Headquarters in New Port Richey, FL.

Through this program you will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain knowledge in how to apply some of the theory acquired into practical engineering
  • Work on a project that will be used in commercial foodservice equipment
  • Learn about electro magnetic energy (microwaves) and how it is used for hearing objects
  • Learn about motor control and what is required to be successful
  • Learn and grow alongside engineers and product managers as they develop solutions to meet challenging customer needs
  • Broaden your real-world business knowledge and experience
  • Receive an inside look at your potential career path
  • Gain exposure to other functions and departments

Project Responsibilities:
  • Work on algorithms for controlling two stirrers/antennas to achieve desirable electromagnetic patterns in a closed in environment
  • Control two independent stepper motors using programming on a selected platform (intern preference).
  • Learn how to use a network analyzer to read EM impedance and resonances
  • Assist Engineering team with high priority projects to achieve team goals
  • Create requirements and test case documentation

Program Qualifications:
  • Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Physics/Electrical Engineering or Electronics at an accredited school. Must have completed Junior year of coursework prior to the start of the internship. Masters degree students are preferred.
  • Experience working with high power electricity and heat transfer is plus.
  • Must have computer programming experience.
  • Understanding of how to reduce test iterations.
  • Electro magnetic field theory knowledge is a plus.
  • Working environment - Normal office conditions with extended periods of sitting or standing
  • Schedule - Normal business hours; up to 30 hours per week.
  • Must have valid US Work authorization
