A part-time (50% FTE, 20 hours per week) Research Associate position is available to work in the Advanced Cell Analysis Service Center (ACASC) of the Department of Cancer Biology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine The ACASC is a UC core facility that includes state of the art super-resolution and confocal microscopies to assist researchers in generating high-resolution, high quality, microscopy-based data for publications and presentation. The successful candidate will help conduct research work in a particular discipline as outlined above. This position encompasses individuals at all degrees and have a high level of competency in research but may not have an independent research program.

Essential Functions
  • Assist ACASC users to perform imaging with confocal and super-resolution microscopy.
  • Maintain all microscopes in ACASC.
  • Organize data storage and analysis procedures.
  • Assist in analyzing research results.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.
Required Education

Bachelor's Degree required in a related field including optics, physics, biomedicine or engineering.

Additional Qualifications Considered

Three years of experience in using fluorescent microscopes.
