Position Purpose:

This position is part of the Kimberly-Clark North America (KCNA) Distribution WMS and Process Support Team. This position will provide functional expertise and support for automation projects within the Kimberly-Clark distribution network. This position partners closely with automation project leads and will be responsible for the successful systems integration for deployment of automated-guided vehicles (AGV's) within mill-attached distribution center locations to achieve cost, quality and safety targets. Provides operational support and project coordination to ensure the achievement of Distribution objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide project-related support to KCNA Distribution automation team and leadership of assigned project milestones

  • Partner with automation vendor(s) and site leadership in the site design (layout), testing, prep and deployment of AGV's at K-C plant distribution center locations

  • Adhere to project implementation milestones and provide concise and timely communication regarding project status to internal and external stakeholders

  • Work with site leadership on appropriate change management and process integration with existing WMS systems

  • Work closely with other WMS team members in the development and implementation of other transactional and operational distribution systems and processes, considering the impacts with current or planned automation capabilities

  • Provide development, implementation, and updating of program strategies to drive new capability and continuous improvement to distribution centers and plants

  • Serve as key contact and functional expert for plant-attached distribution centers to assess materials handling and system and process problems, shortcomings and implementation of corrective action

  • Develop a scope and depth of knowledge in safety, quality, and materials handling technical expertise to investigate and drive continuous improvement and innovative solutions

  • Lead or participate in cross functional project teams made up of diverse team members ranging from senior leaders to machine or lift operators

In this role you will join the Customer Supply Chain Distribution Operations team and report to the Distribution Senior Manager.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering or related field or equivalent relatable work experience

  • Broad supply-chain systems and knowledge or leadership in warehousing operations with a minimum of 5 years prior experience

  • Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (Blue Yonder WMS, SAP EWM) and/or warehouse automation systems highly desirable

  • Familiarity with distribution center layout and flow and CAD experience also desirable for this position

  • Ability to analyze complex data and identify root causes or areas of opportunity

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially around complex topics

  • Enthusiasm for new challenges and an ability to take clear ownership of responsibilities

  • Ability to apply CI/Lean principles towards continuous improvement of a process

  • Ability to collaborate with and leverage diverse resources to achieve results

  • Travel up to 50% depending on project assignments
