The University of Miami UMHC/SCCC - Inpatient Department has an exciting opportunity for a Chemotherapy Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse will be a professional registered nurse who standard chemotherapy and biotherapy agents, research study and non-chemotherapy medications. He/she will administer care to oncology patients as well as with multiple disease process and research study patients. Performs assessments and reassessments focusing on the physical and psychosocial health status of the patient in an ongoing timely and systematic manner. Obtains information utilized for the development of individualized patient plan of care. Provides direct and indirect patient and family care to assess needs. Facilitates/patient/family education with interdisciplinary team involvement. Monitors patient's progress against plan of care until discharge from designated patient care area.
Coordinates the plan of care with patients, family and interdisciplinary team. Ensures the plan of care is accessible to the patient and family to assist them in understanding goals of care and movement toward these goals. Acts as a liaison between patients, caregivers and community resources. Educates interdisciplinary team, patient/family on plan of care. Consistently maintain complete confidentiality of all medical, financial, employees, computer and other sensitive materials, which may violate HIPAA regulations and/or jeopardize the privacy of others.

Education:

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, BSN required

Licensure/Certifications:

Valid Florida Registerd Nurse License, BLS/ACLS certifications

Experience:

Minimum of two years recent oncology experience

Recent experience in administering chemotherapy and biotherapy agents

Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Administration Guidelines provider course

Oncology certification preferred
