Regional Fleet Service Manager- Midwest Region



*This position can be based out of any branch location within the Midwest Region.



Purpose



A Regional Fleet Service Manager is responsible for managing the overall maintenance strategy, policies and practices of the organization and leading multiple service branches. Reporting to the Regional Vice President, this role focuses on optimizing timely recognition of maintenance revenue through continuous improvement and collaboration with key stakeholders at Maxim. As a leader in the Fleet department, the Regional Fleet Service Manager is a self starter that thrives in a high paced environment with a focus on developing key talent and maintaining cost effective processes.

Duties and Responsibilities



A Regional Fleet Service Manager is responsible for but not limited to the following:




* Service/ Maintenance


* Develops, implements, and manages Maxim’s standardized and centralized service generation systems and processes that will improve customer satisfaction and contract compliance within the service departments.
* Defines clear and concise KPIs, metrics, and goals for the team that align with company strategic goals with a focus on maintenance of company-owned and operated equipment and vehicles.
* Oversee workload forecasts based on job schedules across multiple branches, delegating work to service managers, mechanics, technicians, and shop support personnel accordingly.
* Provides guidance and assistance with preventative maintenance and repairs across branches.
* Assumes P&L responsibility for regional service operations.
* Supervises the creation of quotes for approval, opening of work orders, assignment of mechanics for repairs, ordering of parts from vendors, and readiness checks prior to crane dispatch.
* Oversees and maintains a purchase order system for multiple branches.
* Liaises with vendors about goods availability, prices, deliveries, discounts, and changes in supplies, materials, and equipment offered for sale.
* Implements and improves systems and procedures in line with company policies for safety, operations, sales, and administrative functions.
* Conducts periodic inventory checks and annual audits across multiple branches to maintain accuracy in ordering, receiving, usage, and inventory adjustments.
* Maintains records and prepares regional reports for the department.




* Leadership


* Leads the Service in the day-to-day operations of the departments.
* Optimizes the contribution of the team through coaching, counseling and implementing workable solutions to business issues/problems.
* Monitors and adjusts workflows of staff to ensure balanced distribution of the workload and offers professional growth through delegation where appropriate.
* Assists in developing change management communications.
* Arranges timeline to complete tasks and department assignments or projects, and meet the deadlines related to those assignments.
* Works on special projects to help achieve the objectives of the department.
* Develops all direct reports through performance management and leadership development.
* Travels domestically to different Maxim locations for training and development purposes.



Requirements



Education


* Technical degree in a relevant field



Experience


* At least five years of progressive work-related experience, preferably in the crane industry, with at least three years’ experience leading remote/regional teams with change and process improvement initiatives
* Preferred: Certified Crane Inspector


Skills/Knowledge


* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
* Advanced knowledge and skills of JCD and RM systems.
* Superior problem-solving skills and attention to details while making sound decisions during high pressure situations
* Advanced knowledge in Mobile Cranes, Tower Cranes, Crawler Cranes and their transport equipment including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
* Must be able to read and comprehend complex instructions, short correspondence and memos and the ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
