JOB DESCRIPTION

Major Accountability:

  • Perform a variety of quality audits on products, components, and materials at various stages from incoming though product manufacture to ensure compliance with engineering/quality standards.
  • Assist with data collection as directed.
  • Assist with new product validations as related to manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Provides training, coaching, and overall guidance for product quality requirements to production workers and ensure safety items are addressed.
  • Per form special audits and projects upon request.
  • Supports quality activities with suppliers, using appropriate communication skills
  • Initiate activities involving manufacturing resources to solve product and process problems and improve overall quality, as they relate to new product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Perform measurement and testing as directed on product as needed.
  • Perform operation certification observations and documentation.
  • Recommend modifications to existing, or suggest new, standards, methods and/or procedures.
Key Task & Responsibilities:
  • Define Methods and Procedures of data collection to show product trends and quality levels.
  • Develop inspection methods and auditing criteria.
  • Responsible for all basic QA functions in an assigned area or for a key QA function/system.
  • Participate as an ISO internal auditor; and a Lead Internal Auditor as directed.
  • Review raw material certifications to ensure data is within specification
  • Lead and maintain the facility's calibration system.
  • Initiate improvement to existing standards, methods, and procedures.
  • Participate as the lead role in new product validations as related to manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Identify and lead improvement efforts to reduce scrap and rework, supplier improvement programs, and resolving corrective actions.
  • Support supplier PPAP's as needed.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
  • Must possess high communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must have basic knowledge of computers.
  • The ability to read and understand product drawings
  • The ability to accurately use measurement tools/gauges.
  • Short-term multiple task management ability.
  • Ability to lead continuous improvement projects.
Requirements:
  • Associate Degree or equivalent in Quality
  • 5-8 years of Quality Assurance experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Plant environment: majority of time is spent out on manufacturing floor; must be able to wear all personal protective equipment required by company policy for job being performed.
