Position Overview

This role is essential to the effective functioning of the Operations Excellence - Quality, Standards and Systems (QSS) organization. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and driving breakthrough strategies to ensure Novelis is the world leader in customer satisfaction and quality for rolled aluminum products. In addition, this position is accountable for collaboration with regional quality leaders to develop and deploy the Operations Excellence Quality, Systems, Standards and Assessments Roadmap.
Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, alignment and implementation of the QSS road map initiatives, while managing risks associated with these changes.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the global Quality Operating system, WCM Progressive Quality Master Pillar, Process Control and Problem Solving methodologies and support the development of Manufacturing Excellence systems such as ETQ Reliance and Infinity QS Proficient.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in the development of action plans, coach and mentor regional and site resources as they manage global audits and assessments and provide hands on support for development of the QSS Road Map implementations.
  • Lead projects with resources from plants and regions to identify, select, and solve quality issues that prevent the achievement of Novelis Focused 5 objectives.
  • Identify support, knowledge, training required to develop resources within regions and plants to enable them to become self sustaining advocates of key strategies.
  • Collaborate with Global Talent Development to identify top performers in key areas. Identify gaps in current training and technical career path development, as well as solutions for enhancement.
  • Support development of short term and long term strategy to build depth of understanding and implementation of quality concepts and tools.
  • Lead quality education and information forums to increase awareness, engagement and knowledge of all resources.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline required. 10+ years of experience in the quality field is preferred.
  • Self-starter with focus on prioritization of deliverables.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation, facilitation & teaching ability.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and processes.
  • Awareness and understanding of quality systems and statistical process control.
  • Awareness of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean\Six-Sigma, Kaizen, FMEA RIE).
  • Quality Auditor experience (internal or external training).
  • Management Systems Experience (ISO 9001, IATF 169494, AS9100).
  • Knowledge of appropriate computer applications. Microsoft Office required. Experience with software tools and programs such as EtQ, InfinityQS, EASE, PowerBi.
  • Experience working with cultural diverse teams in a global structure.
  • Multi-lingual is a plus.
  • Willing to travel 50% as required.
