Basic Job Functions:
The Quality Lab Lead position will be an hourly plus ROA position. Typical schedule will be Monday through Friday day shift, with the possibility to work on shift for possible coverage. The Quality Lab Lead is responsible for the efficient operation of the lab. The Quality Lab Lead will work with all Roll Mill Operations, Melt Shop Operations, Maintenance, and the Quality department to look for ways to continually improve the safety, reliability, and cost effectiveness of Quality as well as assist in the development of the Lab Technicians. The successful candidate must possess a high level of dedication to Nucor and must be able to complete the essential functions of the job without reasonable accommodations. The Quality Lab Lead will be responsible to fill in for the Lab Technician to ensure all required testing is completed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
