Position Description

Under the general direction of the Clinic Director provide psychological evaluations for clients in HLW programs and in community as well as consultations to parents and team members. Make recommendations regarding treatment and necessary services.

Essential Job Functions

  • Conduct psychological evaluations that assess client's level of functioning including neurological, intellectual and emotional development, presence of learning disabilities, behavioral problems and need for psychopharmalogical intervention. Interpret results and produce written reports.
  • Provide consultations to parents, multi-disciplinary team members, teachers and other service providers regarding the results of psychological testing. Make recommendations and provide information to guide educational and treatment planning.
  • Assist with the training of clinical staff and interns on the use and interpretation of psychological tests
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care. Attend staff meetings and case conferences as needed. Collaborate on an ongoing basis with direct care staff to modify treatment according to child's current level of functioning.
  • Submit reports, documentation and billing in a timely manner
  • Participate in agency committees such as the Clinical Quality Committee as needed
  • Participate in clinic's Utilization Review Team. Insure records and documentation meets utilization review and quality assurance standards.
  • May assist with interviewing candidates for clinical positions
  • May interface with insurance companies and service providers on behalf of clients to negotiate/advocate for services
  • May be required to carry a mobile device
  • Depending on the program, may be required to meet certain billing requirements on a weekly basis
  • Perform other related duties as required

Education and Experience
  • A license and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (mustto be a Massachusetts license; either a PhD or PsyD in School or Clinical Psychology)
  • Three years post-doctoral experience in evaluating and treating children with a variety of psychological and physiological disorders or equivalent
  • Computer literate including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer with the ability to learn new software applications
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

Physical Requirements

Standard office setting. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. May spend extended period on the telephone, at the computer terminal or operating other office machines, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.May require lifting and carrying of heavy/bulky testing kits.
