Merakey is seeking a full time Psychiatrist based in Pennsylvania who can provide coverage for multiple, rotating programs via virtual video and in person (based on candidate location). This is a unique opportunity to experience multiple settings while providing coverage support to Merakey's Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Dual Diagnosis Treatment Team (DDTT), Residential and Outpatient Programs.

Schedule - 30-40 hours per week Monday through Friday

The Float Psychiatrist will be responsible for:

• Providing vacation, leave and other coverage in programs throughout Pennsylvania.

• The Psychiatrist will be responsible for conducting psychiatric patient evaluations to determine medication needs.

• The Psychiatrist will document evaluations and interactions with the patient in the electronic health record.

• The Psychiatrist will also be responsible for prescribing pharmacologic therapies including controlled substances, monitoring progress and making necessary changes to patients' medications.

• The Psychiatrist will facilitate direct patient admissions into hospitals when needed and participating in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings to develop coordinated treatment plans.

• Reports directly to the Medical Director and with the collaboration and support of Program Management for day-to-day operations.

• Participate in Medical Staff meetings.

• Interfaces with County and State offices who monitor care provided by Merakey to ensure that medical operations follow all applicable regulatory and licensing regulations.

• Participates in compliance reviews, chart audits, and case consultations to ensure ongoing quality of care that advances the standards of all behavioral health and medical services.

• Promotes the Merakey goal for the extension of integration of care.

Qualifications

• Holds a current unrestricted medical license to practice as a Psychiatrist in the state of Pennsylvania.

• Board Certification or Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or an equivalent certifying board required.

• Board Certification or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry preferred or comfortable occasionally treating children.

• Previous experience and/or training with the intellectual disabilities population preferred.

• Strong clinical skills and experience providing treatment to persons with severe and persistent mental illness.

• DEA license.

• Administrative or community mental health experience preferred.
