Project & Field Safety Engineer • Compli•s On-Demand Services Group

Project assignments can range from various manufacturing facilities to research/development facilities to distribution/logistics centers. We are experiencing growth as a firm and are seeing a qualified project & field safety engineer for Compli•s On-Demand Services Group. This position can reside at one of these two Compli offices: Cary, North Carolina or Lenexa, KS.

Responsibilities:

  • Function as an owner•s representative and report to the client•s management lead.
  • Coordinates internal and external EHS analysis and evaluates EHS performance to identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives from EHS perspective and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Provides EHS oversight and support to construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with safety rules and company policies. Works closely with contractors and project management to evaluate planned construction activities and review safety work plans to ensure safe design, safety and fire code compliance, and environmental protection.
  • Performs EHS risk assessments of new equipment, processes, and projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, reduce the potential for injury and minimize environmental liability.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor•s degree in an engineering or a construction management field.
  • At least 3 years of pharmaceutical/industrial engineering experience.
  • Ability to work independently or in collaboration with others.
  • In depth understanding and application of project management principles, concepts, practices and standards.
  • Excellent client-facing relationship building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, and AutoCAD Lite.
  • Must be wiling to travel regionally and/or nationally throughout the U.S.A.
  • Job assignments may require temporary relocation up to 12 months or more.
  • Must be OSHA 30 Trained - Professional certification (CSP or CIH) preferred.
Salary: Approximately $70,000 - $85,000, depending on education and experience.
