As the Technical Lead forRoadway & Civilon the $3.3BN Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel Expansion Project (HRBT) in Virginia,you willbe responsible for providing technical and managerial support to the construction operations on the project related to roadway structures (retaining walls and the related ground improvements, sound walls, etc.).

The Hampton Roads Connector PartnersJV(HRCP) consisting ofFlatiron, Dragados USA and VINCIhas been selectedto construct the $3.3BN Design Buildproject-the largestcivilconstruction contracteverawarded by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

The project scopeacross a9 milesection of the I-64will include:a new 3.5-mile bridge-tunnel crossing that will accommodate a total of 8 lanes of capacity across the water, replacement of the existing marine approach bridges and the addition of a third lane on I-64 in each direction.The twin 45' diameter 1.5-mile tunnelswill be boredby TBM, creating the second largest TBM tunnel opening for a TBM in North America.The projectis expectedto continue to the end of 2025.

Principal / Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead project meetings to collect and disseminate information pertaining to the project.
  • Responsible for technical specifications/drawings review andissueresolution.
  • Coordinate the collection and dissemination of technical information between/within the company and the owner.
  • Responsible to develop/reviewWork Plans and Procedures that enables to start Construction on-site and getting approvals from the EOR and the owner.
  • Responsible for RFIs / FDCs related to the design as well as NCR resolution / corrective action approval from the EOR and the owner.
  • Schedule and monitor program activity to achieve an on-time result including follow-up with external suppliers to ensure timely response to action items.
  • Create bill of materials, referencing to project drawings and specifications.
  • Review quotations utilizing supplier information, cost standards, technical information from quality, manufacturing, engineering, and design.
  • Determines possibility of conflicts/delays in the construction process by reviewing project drawings. Analyzes the process to determine likelihood of detection and resulting effect. Suggests preventative steps for correction.
  • Ensure that project charges are correctly represented for accounting's closing process.
  • Evaluates that project charges are correctly represented for accounting's closing process.
  • Manages subcontractors and change orders on project.
  • Executes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Schedules Quality Control & Quality Assurance inspections.
  • Coordinates survey operations.
  • Provides support for company initiatives.
  • Coordinatesimplementation of Safety, Health & Environmental program.
Qualifications:

Required
  • Bachelor's Degreein Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Minimum7years'experience within a construction or engineering firm, focused ontechnical elements ofheavy civil roadway design/construction.

Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer License preferred
  • Field experience preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge with Primavera P6 Scheduling Software is a plus
  • Communication - excellent oral presentation and written skills
  • Goal oriented - able to set goals and achieve them
  • Strong follow upability with vendors and subcontractors
  • Interpersonal - able to work well and persuade people at all organization levels
  • Organizational ability - able to plan, prioritize,organizeand monitor activities and projects. Able to work well in a group environment and foster a team approach
