GHD's Northeast Water Business has an opportunity for a Project Engineer or Project Manager to join our team of Water Engineers in the region! In this role, you will assist with the preparation of investigations, designs and project development for water treatment & distribution systems throughout the region. This position can be based out of Exton, PA, Harrisburg, PA or North Wales, PA.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
- Completing planning, study, piloting, design and construction engineering tasks
- Reviewing water treatment facilities for compliance with state and federal laws
- Troubleshooting water treatment plant operations
- Performing design calculations, alternatives analyses and economic evaluations
- Treatability studies including bench testing and pilot plant evaluations
- Developing water treatment facility layouts
- Developing creative and innovative solutions to address water treatment issues
- Working closely with senior project engineers and project managers for coordination of multi-disciplinary design projects
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering or closely related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in PA or ability to acquire it
- 8+ years of relevant water engineering experience including water treatment and pumping system design
- Pennsylvania Drinking Water System Operator Certification and/or drinking water operations experience a plus
- Knowledge of drinking water regulations including surface water treatment, lead and copper and disinfection byproduct rules
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently
- Willing and able to travel to project sites and client meetings as needed
