Embedded within the Product Development organization, but representing the cross-functional Platform teams, the Program Management Office (PMO) drives a consistent framework and set of tools to effectively manage complex programs, strengthen accountability for tactical program execution and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the entire product development process. The PMO also provides oversight and coaching for program execution leads within the platform teams (program managers). As a Program Management Coach, you will lead the assessment of skillsets, develop competency modules and tools related to program management best practices and lean product development principles, and assist in the implementation across business segments. You will support the platform teams in initiating, planning, and executing programs and improvement initiatives through the Program Management Lifecycle. You will serve as a teacher and Change Leader to multiple platforms. This position reports to the Director of Program Management but will work directly with the product development teams and stakeholders to guide them through methodology for defining scope, developing schedule/timeline, and ensuring accountability for program delivery.


The qualified candidate will have experience with the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Program/Project Management, or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 8 years in product development
  • Minimum of 10 years in program management and cross-functional team collaboration
  • Delivering program management, lean PD and systems engineering principles training including organizing, material preparation, training, and follow up coaching
  • Collecting, organizing, and analyzing program data and present as program and portfolio KPI
  • Evaluating portfolio and program Return-on-Investment and Risks to identify coaching opportunities
  • Providing coaching to program managers and cross-functional multi-cultural product development teams with particular attention to
  • customer requirements management, additive risk management and resource planning

The preferred candidate will have experience with the following:

  • Leading by influencing across organization levels and boundaries and hold others accountable
  • Written and oral communication skills with ability to manage conversations and present across organization levels
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Strong conflict resolution and change management principles and practices
  • Collaborating with customers, suppliers, and internal functions including commercial, marketing, finance, manufacturing, and engineering
  • Reducing product development waste using lean principles and tools
  • Lean product development/Agile/Scrum methodologies for vehicle and/or software
  • Innovation and new product portfolio prioritization and management
  • Strategic marketing approach in defining customer needs, customer value, and value proposition leading to commercialization strategy
  • System engineering approach and requirement management methods and tools
  • PMP Certification is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, or equivalent program planning software platform
