GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

The Medical Practice Evaluation Center (MPEC) is seeking an intellectually curious and highly organized Program Coordinator. The position is with an internationally recognized multidisciplinary team from Massachusetts General Hospital dedicated to improving clinical outcomes, increasing value in health policy, and informing global public health through innovative research, collaboration, and education.

The Coordinator will play a key role in research program administration for the Biometry (Biostatistics) Unit through coordination of data analysis activities and monitoring personnel bandwidth. In collaboration with the Directory of Biometry, the Coordinator will lead process improvements to maximize efficiency, transparency, and communication between Investigators and the Biometry Unit.

Members of the Biometry Unit work with Investigators in the Simulation Modeling Program to conduct clinical and cost-effectiveness analyses on key aspects of HIV disease management (as well as other chronic and infectious disease treatment and prevention) and with Investigators in the Outcomes and Implementation Science Program to develop, implement, and evaluate interventions to improve engagement in medical carein the United States and international settings. The MPEC research portfolio focuses on HIV, TB, tobacco use, and COVID-19, and includes up to 90 active projects led by over 20 Principal Investigators.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

Programmatic Coordination

  • Work with programmatic leadership to support successful coordination of projects by:
    • Summarizing project scope and deliverables
    • Developing clear, actionable plans
    • Coordinating completion of action items
    • Tracking project progress and milestones
    • Developing and maintaining project documentation
    • Maintaining lines of communication with project stakeholders
  • Maintain collaborative team relationships to support the group's shared goals by:
    • Developing relationships with key stakeholders and working with cross-functional teams
    • Using problem solving and suggesting solutions to move initiatives forward while working collaboratively to resolve challenges
  • Work closely with the Biometry team to synergize and align program efforts, balance priorities, develop program metrics and evaluation plans, and document outcomes for reporting
  • Ensure research integrity, including data management and documentation, by collaborating with the MPEC Program Management team to develop best practices, provide ongoing training, and monitor for adherence
Biometry Unit Personnel Coordination
  • Assist with coordination of staffing efforts to support timely completion of Biometry Unit deliverables, including:
    • Monitoring personnel resource allocations and advising team leadership on factors affecting research productivity
    • Gathering information regarding project progress, meeting with each team member weekly
  • Coordinate annual performance review process
  • Work with recruiting team to recruit new personnel


Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

Required qualifications include the following:
  • 3+ years of experience, inclusive of experience in baccalaureate education, in an academic, research, or related setting with project coordination experience
  • Bachelor's degree
Master's degree desirable but not required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Duties will be carried out in a typical office environment (can be performed remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic). Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
