The Production Supervisor directly supervises hourly employees on the second shift. Responsible for safety, production, quality and adherence to company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develops and leads a cross functional/departmental team to take on day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
• Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for hourly personnel
• Motivates team members to achieve plan goals by having a regular presence on the plant floor
• Manage employee relations issues and communicate with the second shift union steward
• Communicate and follow through with Operations Managers, 1 st Shift Value Stream Managers and Human Resources Manager
• Sets and achieves performance standards with regards to safety, productivity and quality

Job Requirements
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Manufacturing experience preferably in mechanical products
• Understanding / experience in Lean Manufacturing
• Demonstrated ability to deescalate conflict in a union environment
• Strong understanding of machining techniques
• Team-building and strong interpersonal skills
• Strong computer and problem-solving skills

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• Past work experience in with mechanical products and a strong understanding of machining techniques
• Experience with SAP or another Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
