Responsibilities

How Will You Contribute to the Company?

The Cradlepoint team is seeking a creative, strong entrepreneurial business leader to lead product management activities for our industry-leading cloud-managed wireless WAN vehicle networking business. In this role, you will be driving a wide number of strategic initiatives including but not limited to: (a) evolving a winning product line strategy, (b) building sustainable hardware and software differentiation, (c) defining and building the next generation 5G platforms for vehicles, and (d) ideating and executing on a strategy to develop adjacent product lines to create the next big disruption.

You will work within a fun culture with a strong engineering team on the development of a wide set of features and collaborate with various teams from all over the company. You will work closely with the entire Product Management team to understand and deliver on the strategic big picture, while inherently and independently being detail-oriented, organized and driven enough to identify and produce the pieces required to put that picture together. What Will You Do?

  • Research: Utilize our vast metrics and customer-focused data sets alongside your own research to continually find the next big growth opportunity, explore the latest networking trends and features and propose ideas on how we can bring them back to our service
  • Lead the strategy and roadmap needed to ensure the highest level of satisfaction for our products
  • Build solid partnerships with key stakeholder groups to evangelize, influence, and execute the strategy and vision
  • Responsible for identifying the market size, preparation of business plans, and pricing recommendations for the defined product and service portfolio
  • Responsible for populating the overall roadmap for the product line, ensuring a continual stream of new and innovative ideas are consistently brought to market
  • Own the performance of products in-market and will be responsible for ensuring that products achieve financial objectives
  • Analyze financial performance and recommend tactics to change the trajectory of the business
  • Manage all life cycle migration strategies and the end-of-life decision for existing products and services
  • Lead development of product plans (including target segment and value proposition) and business cases for assigned products and services
  • Facilitate requirements definition across teams to decompose and document releases, epics, and functional requirements to developer-ready user stories and acceptance criteria. Convey customer and product requirements in the form of architectures, solutions and proofs-of-concept ("PoC(s)"), iterating on a rapid basis with UX, product, engineering, IT and business stakeholders

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in product management preferred
  • 2+ years working in or with the transportation and mobility industry (transit, rail, public safety, transport)
  • Experience with networking, troubleshooting, IT security, SaaS, or Cloud Platforms
  • Understands and speaks the language of networking (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, Latency, DHCP, DNS, etc.)
  • Understand adjacent transportation technologies such as:
    • Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL), GIS, and Data Visualization
    • OBDII, J1939, CANbus
    • SAE, Rail, and Aviation standards
    • C-V2X and C-ITS
  • Strong customer focus and a well-honed sense of empathy for regional and cultural considerations towards building a global experience
  • Curiosity that drives you to see what others don't
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with technical partners, peers, and executive management alike clearly and effectively
  • Demonstrate strong experience with data-informed decision making; know how and when to leverage qualitative and quantitative experimentation, and adept at analyzing results from these experiments
  • Ability to write clear and thorough specifications and user stories
  • A positive, can-do mindset and team focus
  • Bachelor's degree in various fields of study are applicable. Computer Science, Engineering, marketing, project management or equivalent experience
  • Location: Boise, ID, Los Gatos, CA preferred
  • Remote possible (if remote be in a location with a direct flight to Boise)
  • Travel: Up to 20%
  • Additional 20%, if not located in Boise
