Job Information

As a Procurement Project Specialist, you will represent the Procurement organization on assigned projects. Project types could include NPD (New Product Development), R & D (Research and Development), VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering), Innovation, and Business Systems. Tasks include management of the procurement of materials during the development phase through product launch. This scope includes all purchased commodities for a successful project launch, potentially including highly engineered and tooled components.

Role & Responsibility

• Support projects as sourcing lead
• Coordinate and implement supply strategies to achieve ongoing cost, quality, and delivery improvements for assigned project
• Collaborate and support procurement team with supplier selection including new supplier on-boarding
• Ensure early and ongoing supplier and procurement involvement in the NPD process
• Manage purchased part quotations and cost estimates
• Prepare budgets for vendor tooling investments, returnables, and other suppliers' expenses as well as support and audit project and product financial costing
• Build strong value-adding relationships with suppliers, internal customers, and cross-functional departments
• Facilitate meetings with engineering, operations, sourcing, planning, and additional stakeholders on solving problems
• Advise sourcing management of any potential major supplier problems and risks that could adversely affect the supply of components
• Understand and communicate agreements (nondisclosure, supply and warranty) including terms and conditions
• Assist planning in minimizing inventory and obsolescence and supply forecast and schedules as required
• Assist in maintaining data integrity in all related systems
• Support other duties as assigned

Job Requirement

• Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related fields
• Experience Required: 2-5 years in related field
• Project management experience a plus
• Travel Required: less than 10%
