Job Description Summary:
Role requires expertise in Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM), Enterprise IaM, Identity proofing, Strong authentication, API and Web user authN/authZ to provide oversight in TISO (Technology and Information Security Oversight). Team is looking for a Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) that leads the coordination and strategic oversight over Technology and Product identity and access management domains supporting key Business Functions. This position requires building trusted partnership with First Line of Defenses (FLOD) in collaboration with Third Line of Defense (Audit) to develop clear mechanisms to provide risk transparency at the enterprise level.

Job Description:

The role is responsible for providing oversight on Identity Management, Identity Proofing, product development, secure development practices, application and product security, policy, and risk analysis to identify enterprise risks, enhance policies, improve reporting, and influence strategy for the organization. Person in this role will:

  • Be responsible for policy and oversight of PayPal's Customer Identity and access management, application security, identify proofing, user authentication and authorization practices.
  • Collaborate with development, engineering, architecture, data, technology, and security groups on key initiatives.
  • Work with multiple cross functional teams on identity and access management oversight and driving consistency and maturity in product development.
  • Expertise in IaM, Application Security, SDLC, DevOps (DevSecOps), and Code security (Testing and assessment).
  • Oversight on API security and access controls
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and evolve Key Risk Indicators for the critical risk domains.
  • Provide security and technology oversight for application/product risk assessments across different operating environments.
  • Advise leadership on foundation process related risks and decisions.
  • Actively contribute to PayPal security awareness and training programs.
  • Excellent communication skills to bridge communication between various regional entities
  • Support Shaping the organization's vision, 3-5 years plans, OKRs, and other far-reaching strategy documents.
  • Represent TISO at various forums and leadership engagements
  • Build sustaining relationships based on trust and mutual respect
  • Actively manage expectations between the incumbent, their peers, and the broader universe of stakeholders to avoid "surprises" by creating a sense of agency and involvement early on and at regular intervals.
  • Willingness to contribute ideas and learn from others on the team.
  • Experience preferred in financial services, insurance, security, and technology industries, preferably in dynamic and fast changing environments.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities with deep understanding of how to develop relevant metrics that not only track activity but also quantify the impact of data and technology initiatives on the financial performance of the business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and conflicting priorities.

Professional Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree required
  • Industry certifications preferred
  • 10+ years in experience working in Technology, security and Identity and access management with 3 years as senior subject matter expert role providing risk oversight.
  • Expertise in technology associated with CIAM, EIAM, MFA and identity protection.
  • Expertise in securing API integrations
  • Have served as a direct interface with regulatory agencies and external Audit partners
  • A strong balance of strategic and analytic acumen, with a high level of intellectual agility and capacity for original and innovative thoughts.
  • Ability to work in a cross functional/matrix environment with proven track record of delivery, through strong negotiation, influencing and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
