Experiments using live mice, including surgeries, husbandry, handling, microscopy, and other tasks (basic lab work). Approximately 20 new successful experiments should be completed each year.Data and image analysis. Data from collected experiments and other assigned datasets should be analysed in a timely manner. Progress in this should be reported to the supervisor in biweekly meetings.Manuscript and grant writing. It is expected that experiments and data analyzed will lead to writing of a scientific manuscript to be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal and/or grant applications to private or public funding agencies. At least one manuscript of new results should be submitted within 3 years after hiring. At least one fellowship or grant applications should be submitted within 1 year after hiring. Progress in this regard should be ongoing and will be reviewed in biweekly meetings.Travel to conferences. Results and analyses from work completed at GSU should be presented at least 1 international conference each year.Attending weekly meetings to discuss progress and projects. It is expected that the postdoc will be at all Weekly lab-wide meetings in addition to biweekly meetings with the supervisor unless meetings are canceled (which may occur due to travel or other departmental events and seminars).Other duties not specified
