West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellow with the WVU Cancer Institute. 

About the Opportunity

As a Post-Doctoral Fellow, you will perform cancer research in a translational laboratory focused on novel strategies for the treatment of lung cancer. You will have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with medicinal chemists and clinical colleagues.

The WVU Cancer Institute is located on the Health Sciences campus in the attractive college town of Morgantown, West Virginia. The WVU Cancer Institute has a strong interdisciplinary research environment with collaborations with clinical colleagues, bioinformatics and access to primary lung cancer specimens. WVU has a post-doctoral association which supports career development and grant writing workshop are available for crafting post-doctoral fellowships which is encouraged by the applicant. Standard cores are available for use to the applicant to address research questions including imaging, flow cytometry, LC-MS/MS, in vivo imaging and bioinformatics support.

What you'll do: 
  • Design and perform experiments.
  • Evaluate data and discuss with the PI next steps to move the project forward.
  • Write manuscripts.
  • Assist with grant submissions.
  • Work on in vivo projects profiling immune response.
  • Assist with ordering and stock supplies.  


Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, cancer biology, biochemistry, immunology or closely related area of emphasis required.
  • 0-2 years of experience in standard in vitro and in vivo pharmacological assays as well as standard molecular techniques.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Expertise with in vivo mouse models preferred.
  • Immuno-histochemistry.
  • Flow cytometry.
  • Standard molecular techniques.
  • Expertise on LC-MS/MS preferred.
