Description: Plant Accountant
Job Responsibilities
- Take ownership of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Analyze financial data to prepare comprehensive financial summaries.
- Ensure precise and efficient results for monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting.
- Analyze financial information to recommend resource optimization strategies.
- Provide strategic recommendations to operational leadership for process improvements.
- Maintain and oversee the organization's chart of accounts.
- Ensure timely completion of periodic bank reconciliations.
- Supervise the Accounts Payable process.
- Control vendor payments and manage Accounts Receivable.
- Monitor cash application, paying attention to aged invoices and credit limits.
- Review manufacturing costs, overhead expenses, and G&A costs.
- Provide recommendations for overhead absorption rates and cost management initiatives.
- Ensure precise recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
- Comply with provincial and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Oversee physical inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Bachelor's Degree:
- A degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent experience.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication in English.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to resolve issues with colleagues and managers.
- Technical Accounting Knowledge:
- Proficiency in technical accounting concepts.
- Ability to provide guidance on complex accounting requirements.
- Independence and Organization:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of multitasking and prioritizing effectively.
