Purpose: Support consumable product development and certification through prototype production and routine product performance evaluations using established procedures and work practices. Report to Consumable R&D Managers or their designees.

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Manufactures small batches of experiemental products, provides feedback on manufacturability to engineers and scientists
  • Provides technical support to engineers and scientists in areas such as operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development.
  • Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems.
  • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures and performs detailed mathematical calculations.
  • Conducts and documents a variety of standardized tests; prepares routine test specimens using established procedures and/or drawings; sets up and operates standard test equipment; records test data
  • Responsible for executing work in accordance with instructions provided
  • Performs additional tasks as required by engineers or supervisor
  • Responsible for the safe operation, cleanliness and routine maintenance of all assigned laboratory equipment
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company's 2025 Strategy.


BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
  • Vocational Training and 3+ years experience required; or GED with 5+ years in related field. (but does not require a university degree), advanced technical training in computer or information systems preferred
  • Has working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical/scientific methods or operational processes
  • Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise
  • Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods
  • Works with a moderate degree of supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain neat, accurate records
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Ability to develop a positive and cooperative work environment with colleagues and supervisors
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis
