The Payroll Assistant provides day-to-day administrative support for all aspects of the payroll department within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and supports Human Resources, Line of Business Management, and Payroll staff with the day-to-day payroll processing administrative inquires and assignments. Prepares routine and ad-hoc reports with payroll data to supervisor for quality control and review prior to distribution.
  • Maintains and scans all payroll files for record keeping. Performs data entry assignments as assigned by payroll staff and/or supervisor.
  • Administers and processes employee verification of employment (VOE) requests in a timely manner, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Provides customer support and troubleshoots payroll/timekeeping issues and provides resolutions to approving managers and employees on payroll related and time & attendance inquiries. Assists employee inquiries and navigation through the human capital management (HCM) system.
  • Administers incoming mail and provides proper response for queries received from IRS, unemployment, and revenue offices.


Requirements
  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, and/or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 0-3 years of experience in payroll processing, accounting, office administration, and/or related field.
  • Intermediate experience working with Oracle HCM or similar system solutions, preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Federal and State wage and hour laws.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) with a minimum typing speed of 60-70 wpm and 10-key by touch.
