Responsibilities

Patient Outreach Services Specialist - PRN Under the supervision of the Outreach Manager or designee, performs technical and non-technical duties within the WellStar Laboratory Outreach specimen collection locations. Duties include, but not limited to: WellStar EPIC system patient registration; WellStar EPIC system Insurance and ICD-10 data entry; WellStar EPIC system laboratory test order entry; Quest Laboratory and Lab Corp systems patient registration; Quest Laboratory and Lab Corp systems Insurance and ICD-10 data entry; Quest Laboratory and Lab Corp systems test order entry. Resolves all Customer Service problems and issues at assigned IOP and PSC location. Properly prepares and packs specimens for transport to analyzing laboratory. Properly and accurately performs phlebotomy specimen collection. Performs Quality Assurance and maintenance checks on all equipment; and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED. Phlebotomy certification preferred, but not required.

Required Minimum Experience:

At least 1 year of previous computer skills required and/or completion of WellStar Lab Outreach externship.

At least 1 year of Customer Service experience required and/or completion of WellStar Lab Outreach externship.

At least 1 year of previous phlebotomy and specimen processing experience required and/or completion of WellStar Lab Outreach externship.

Required Minimum Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) is required.

Required Minimum Skills:

Excellent Customer Service skills. Must be able to demonstrate use of correct grammatical English. Requires efficient and accurate computer skills. Must be able to work and maintain professional demeanor under stressful conditions. Requires efficient multi-tasking and organizational skills. Must be able to gracefully maintain composure in difficult situations.
