JOB DESCRIPTION

Major Responsibility Typical Frequency % of Overall Workload Importance Ranking Responsible for using 8 step job instruction to train all employees. Promotes cross-training and updates training matrix. Monthly 5% 4=Critical to Job Responds to operator problems. Solves problems that eliminate waste to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Daily 15% 5=Significant Develops standardized work(time observations, std work layout, combo sheet, etc) and job instruction. Update as necessary. Balances work load across assembly lines to meet changes in demand. Updates yamazumi / work balance boards. Monthly 10% 4=Critical to Job Works where needed. Goes to problems or constraints. Uses root cause analysis and implements solutions. Participates in kaizen events. Daily 25% 5=Significant OpEx Tech drives continuous improvement. Is a coach and teaches other employees how to identify waste and improve their work stations. Uses lean tools such as 5S, visual controls, standardized work, mistake proof, kanban, wip caps, etc. Sets up work stations with materials and tools. Eliminates waste and reduces cost. Weekly 25% 5=Significant Process Industrial Engineering Requests such as routings changes, configure base model routings, time standards, special tools, material racks, etc. Daily 30% 3=Critical to Div/Dept Must process Engineering Change Orders that change the fit, form, or function of the product. Daily 30% 3=Critical to Div/Dept Support manufacturing. Work where need. OpEx Tech is involved on kaizen teams on a routine basis. Solve problems and lead continuous improvement efforts. Daily 30% 3=Critical to Div/Dept Program equipment. Weekly 25% 4=Critical to Job Support equipment in area of expertise (press breaks, laser, robotic welder, salvagnini, etc.) including trouble shooting. Daily 25% 3=Critical to Div/Dept Supports manufacturing from a team level. Part of their team on the floor. Represents OpEx at MDI. Solve problems and drive continuous improvement in their respective areas to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Daily 30% 3=Critical to Div/Dept Owns routing process for the area. Identifies constraints. Works with area leadership to resolve. Daily 20% 4=Critical to Job Owns ECO changes for the area. Is the link between engineering and manufacturing and owns launching the product successfully. Weekly 20% 3=Critical to Div/Dept
