Position Summary

This position is primarily responsible for providing project management assistance across assigned programs or region. This position will assist in various projects, pilot programs, and program expansion efforts, while also providing training, design, and execution support for programs. The Operations Project Manager may act as an interim lead for program operations on new programs, as well as provide support for Business Development proposals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Identify root causes, inefficiencies, gaps in service and incorporate "best practice" methods of energy efficiency program implementation.
  • Run pilot programs, including design and idea generation. Transition pilot programs to full implementation.
  • Lead program tune-ups and start-ups
  • Provide technical support and training for new program managers and program staff
  • Provide interim leadership as needs arise, and short-term support for program expansion where capacity expands past current staffing until steady state can be reached
  • Practice effective project management skills while assisting in multiple utility energy efficiency programs
  • Support utility client relationships as needed
  • Provide content for client communications and reporting
  • Support delivery of Statement of Work
  • Implement program delivery efficiencies (productivity metrics)
  • Implement program delivery enhancements including but not limited to improved program design
  • Extract information from various tracking systems to manage a project/program
  • Lead and attend relevant presentations promoting energy efficiency programs
  • Mentor, develop, and train other employees; support the identification of rising talent potentially acting as mentor in their career growth
Position Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience - required
  • Advanced degree - preferred
  • 3+ years of project management or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in financial management
  • Background in engineering, technology or science and experience in working in a technical environment - preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in managing energy efficiency programs - preferred
  • Experience in lighting, HVAC, and other technologies installed in commercial and industrial applications - preferred
  • Technical experience in developing and/or reviewing energy savings calculations to determine paybacks and incentive levels for customers - preferred

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Must be flexible to handle a wide variety of tasks and complete work in a timely fashion in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers, clients and employees.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problems.
  • Proven leadership in fast paced environment.
  • Detail oriented and have an ability to prioritize workload and delegate appropriate work assignments to staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong data entry skills in entering information in tracking systems/databases.
  • Knowledge of mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages and ratios.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry

  • Valid driver's license

Travel Requirements
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%
Estimated Wage Range: $63,100 - $86,700+
